1. What do you pay for gold, silver and platinum?

We evaluate the following when determining what we will pay for gold, silver, or platinum:

  • We examine your items for gold, silver, platinum, or other precious metals (we also buy diamonds).
  • We determine the weight and purity of any precious metals.
  • We evaluate if your items are antique, designer brand, or have numismatic value.
  • We take these factors into account, along with the day’s current market price for precious metals, to calculate your offer.

    2. When will I get my offer?

    We send your offer within 1 business day of receiving your items.

    3. How long does it take to get paid?

    We send payment in as little as 24 hours once you accept our offer.

    4. What are my payment options?

    We currently offer ACH (direct deposit) or a check in the mail, whichever you prefer.

    We buy gold, silver, and platinum. We also buy diamonds (but not lab-grown diamonds).

    Yes we buy real diamonds. However, we do not buy lab-grown diamonds.

    Yes, we buy coins, bars, and bullion.

    Yes, we buy silver coins, jewelry, bullion, and flatware.

    7. Are there items you don't buy?

    Yes, we do NOT currently buy diamonds and gemstones.

    1. Do you provide shipping insurance?

    Yes, we cover shipping insurance up to $1000. However, if you need to be insured for more than $1000, please call us and we can provide insurance up to $100,000. (833) 658-2808

    2. Do you provide additional insurance for high-value items?

    Yes, we can provide additional insurance for high-value items up to $100,000 in value. Please call us prior to shipping your items to request higher insurance coverage. (833) 658-2808

    3. Can I send heavy or bulky items?

    Yes, please give us a call so that we can provide you the proper packaging materials to ensure your items arrive safely and securely. (833) 658-2808

    4. How long will it take to receive my appraisal kit in the mail?

    We send shipping instructions as soon as you finish filling out our online form. No need to wait 5-7 days for an appraisal kit to arrive when you work with Family Gold Buyers. We text and email you a QR code that you can bring to FedEx with your items, and a member of FedEx will assist you from there! Fast. Safe. Easy.

    5. How long will it take for my items to be received once they are in the mail?

    You can expect your items to take about 2-3 days to reach us.

    6. What are your shipping options?

    We ship via FedEx for the highest security of your package.

    Getting Started: Selling Your Gold

    1. What is an appraisal kit?

    An appraisal kit is essentially shipping materials for you to package your items and bring them to FedEx. Rather than making you wait for an appraisal kit in the mail, we immediately send you a QR code that you can bring to FedEx the same day you fill out our form. This can save you 5-7 days of waiting compared to companies that ship out kits. Family Gold Buyers is fast, safe, and we make your life easier!

    2. How much does sending in my gold cost?

    Nothing! We cover the cost of shipping and insurance. Just bring your items to FedEx in a baggy with the QR code we text and email to you. Speak to a FedEx representative who will take it from there!

    3. How long does the whole process take?

    The entire process from when you receive your appraisal kit to getting paid is quick. If you mail in your appraisal kit the same day you receive it, we will have your offer ready the same day our secure location receives the kit. If you accept our offer on the spot, we send payment within 24 hours to your bank account.

    4. Will my items be safe?

    Yes, all packages are insured up to $1000 and up to $100,000 upon request.

    Returns

    1. What happens if I want my items back?

    If you are not satisfied with our offer, we return your items back to you free of charge. No questions asked.

    2. Do I have to pay for my items to be returned?

    No. We pay for the cost to return your items to you.
